Frequently Asked Questions

Those applying to the iGA HUB Program must have graduated from high school and be at least 18 years old. Any university student or graduate of Turkish or any other nationality can apply.

Being incorporated is not one of the criteria for applying to the iGA HUB program. İTÜ Çekirdek was essentially founded for the purpose of commercializing successful technology initiatives and to enable them to make sales. The aim is for initiatives to become incorporated either during or at the end of the program.

Yes, you can apply to iGA HUB with multiple initiative ideas but you can only use one initiative during the program.

After joining the program, our entrepreneurs will have access to various opportunities such as a 25-hour entrepreneurship training course, benefiting from our pool of more than 500 active mentors, using the fully-equipped working space, joining seminars and workshops specific to them, using the workshop to develop prototypes and products, taking advantage of perks specific to the entrepreneurs (AWS, Google Cloud, DigitalOcean, Iyzico, etc.).

Entrepreneurs who qualify to move forward with the program will have access to opportunities such as meeting investors at Investor Demo Days, networking with potential corporate prospects at Corporate Demo Days, joining special workshops, joining national/international fairs and activities, and receiving instruction regarding their needs as well as KPI follow-up as part of their monthly one-on-one performance meetings with the İTÜ Çekirdek Team. In addition, they will benefit from opportunities provided during the İTÜ Çekirdek training process based on their performance during the training and pre-incubation processes.

İTÜ Çekirdek has continued most of its processes online during 2020 because of the pandemic. In this process, the schedule for your training period will be shared with you — the training courses and mentorship activities will continue both online and in person, but after the end of the training course, physical attendance is expected for events such as jury evaluations. You should also consider the benefits of regular physical attendance which include taking advantage of being at Istanbul Airport, meeting with the authorities face to face, and having one-to-one contact with İTÜ Çekirdek specialists and mentors.

No, you can join the program as the founding partner of only one initiative.

Yes. All entrepreneurs who are accepted to the iGA HUB program carried out by İTÜ Çekirdek can take advantage of all the perks of being a member of İTÜ Çekirdek. As long as their initiative exists, they continue to be İTÜ Çekirdek alumni.

The total prize of the İTÜ Çekirdek Civil Aviation vertical award is TRY 800,000. Entrepreneurs have the opportunity to win a TRY 548 million prize, in cash, and an investment pool of both iGA and Big Bang on the Big Bang stage. They can also receive awards from other stakeholder foundations of İTÜ Çekirdek.

Istanbul Airport, one of the world's biggest hub airports, is in the spotlight with airline companies which are its stakeholders, in particular, ground operation agencies, cargo handling companies, transportation, cleaning, security, health, and food/beverage companies, as well as national and international aviation authorities. You can improve your initiative through the power and support by iGA and take advantage of the cash prize specific to this vertical option. 

Yes. For example, you can have a project combining both mobility/automation and airport administration.  This way, you can receive awards from both vertical stakeholders on the Big Bang stage.
